The
illustrations are details from a three panelled painting in the main entrance
area of Bodmin Hospital. The three panels make up a total picture of 1.8
metres wide and 2 metres in height. The overall design contained a reference
to each of the ward names in the hospital which were in turn originated
from the poem by Bob Devereux. This powerful, imaginative scene describes
a ficticious but familiar Cornish fishing village with festivals. It is
a reminder of the tradition, culture and beautyof the area which the hospital
serves. Bringing the outside in to remind the community of the wider context.
