Elly
Faires led a mosaic project within the mental health facility Longreach
House with the community, making forty panels approximately 30cm square.The
total cost of the project was £9000.00. Elly was present at the workshops
to advise and help the community members. Artonic received the panels which
were then backed, cleaned, grouted and mounted ready to be fitted. Three
workshops were conducted. During the project Elly produced ten remarkably
fine panels, of which the two top and the lower left panel illustrated are
but three. The lower right panel was produced by Alice Michell who assisted
Elly. The objective here was to distribute these panels throughout Longreach
House, each bathroom having one panel whilst the ward dining rooms have groups of Elly’s panels in them. |
