The
two illustrations are part of three square metres of glass commissioned
for Bodmin Hospital. The left hand panel was one of three vertical panels
in the multi-faith room. The right hand panel, one of four in the dental
waiting room.Stained glass when mounted in a window can be seen as part
of the exterior of the building as well as contributing to the quality
of the interior. The brilliance and vivacity of the colour, light up the
room. The encapsulation held the glass between two sheets of 10mm polycarbonate
with beautifully turned alluminium bosses. The glass, effectively cealed
is free from potential damage and maintenance, the polycarbonate providing
a durable surface, the glass will last indefinately.
