Bodmin
Hospital when first approached, is a long facade of similar fenestration
and protruding wings. There was a need to identify which part of the building was the main public entrance and indicate this visually. The building was brick construction with a red tile roof, echoing the victorian building it replaced. This original building had quality and detail in the terracotta door surrounds, quoins and transoms. I decided to echo this in the new building with quality ceramic brick and brick sign on a gable wall which was the centre part of the eye line, beginning with a brick line on the entrance roundabout, to a blue brick wall at the main entrance itself. |
