The pool
had to provide an interesting and stimulating environment for this group
of all
ages. The solution was a narrative story, illustrated in the tiles on
the wall and the pool.
The poet, Michael Hughes was engaged to provide narrative line which
was presented
in a series of poems, absolutely terrific poems. The artist, Roger Michell
illustrated these
in a decorative scheme that covered the entire room, moving around the
pools surrounding
walls with the story incorporating focal points, for example, a storm
at sea, an imaginary
city, a maze, a garden...
