Press-moulded and glazed agate tea pot

Built with coloured clay rings with the handle, lid-rim and foot-ring attached to three press-moulded hemispheres.

An essay in innovative technique and simple shape and pattern formed naturally by the elastic clay shapes. The problem is how to get the agate pattern into a smooth curved shape and the irregular shrinkage of the different clay colours often causes cracking.
