Tea pot on dolphin stand

1973

Thrown and turned, large earthenware teapot on a stand with 3 dolphin models made by Roger Michell and decorated by Danka Napiorkowska.

Made in days when there was a driven belief in a single, correct design approach - modernism - this tea pot illustrated a re-statement of low-art as a reaction to both the authouritarianism of modernism and the absurd and dull vanity of contemporary ceramic artists.
